We currently have a a waitlist for purchasing calves.  Please read this page before adding yourself to the waitlist below.

We have an interview process before selecting the appropriate buyer for our cattle. We like to know what your farming goals are and so we can find the perfect animal to fit your farm.

Important things to know:

1) Highlands will need a cow buddy.  Cattle are herd animals and thrive in that environment.  A buddy needs to be another bovine, not a horse, sheep, or goat.  You can start with a cow/calf pair, but need to have plans to add another to the farm in preparation for weaning.

2) Buying the cow is the easy part.  Cows require more than just a pasture.  Highlands need lots of shade and fresh water.  Good fencing is almost a must.  Cattle require a safe handling area where they can be worked and brought in for veterinary care.  Cattle require access to minerals and hay.  Having your area set up will reduce stress when your new cattle arrive.

3) How our buying process works.  First complete our cattle waitlist.  Feel free to reach out to us by email with any questions.  When cattle are available, we will post them on our website and email out our waitlist.  Once you have been selected to purchase, we require a a 20% deposit.  Balance is due at pickup.  Pickup will be 30 days from purchase date unless other arrangements are made.  CVI will be provided on pickup.

When purchasing from Mill Creek Farms, we will be available for mentorship during your farm start up process.
